Arianna has seen first-hand that teaching individuals how to screen print can benefit their mental health, whilst equipping them with practical skills. She founded Print Clan in 2018 with the goal of making the art of screen printing accessible to everyone.
After moving to Glasgow, Arianna realised that studios were too expensive for many makers. They often required prior knowledge about the screen printing process, making them inaccessible to many people.
Print Clan provides open access screen printing facilities through a membership model that is affordable and open to all.
The social enterprise runs educational workshops and courses, live-screen printing events, and supports other third sector organisations to produce subsidised programmes working with vulnerable populations.
Arianna first received support from Just Enterprise and business advisor Brian McMillan when founding Print Clan in 2018. Once the studio had grown and she felt ready to fully invest in the business, Arianna sought more help from Brian in order to further develop Print Clan.
“I think Brian saw the shift of when Print Clan became something really serious, and he was able to give us the push to go forward for funding because we were ready. It’s been great knowing that Just Enterprise was there to really support and encourage us.”
Since receiving support from Just Enterprise, Print Clan has successfully received funding, which has allowed Arianna to leave her part-time job and give 100% of her time to Print Clan. She plans to increase service provision across the board meaning more time for members, more educational workshops and more work with vulnerable populations.
Arianna aims to grow the Print Clan network whilst serving their social purpose and remaining sustainable.
